The aroma is sweet with strong notes of hops on a malty background. The flavor is sweet hoppy with notes of caramel and malt - like a hop soup. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA

Still the same ol deliciously hoppy IIPA with added floral hop character. Starts with a sweet malt base that helps this big ol brew. Citrus hops take over and a long bitter finish results. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 31, 2006 Tap, Brouwers’ hopfest ’06. This is one suave IIPA.
It pours a nice rich slightly cloudy deep red amber. For the intensity with which this thing is hopped, it’s seriously smooth and beautifully balanced in the nose and particuarly in the flavor. Thanks to the dry hopping, we get delightful floral hop bitterness throughout, which coupled with little of the usual PacNW IIPA strong citrus and caramel makes for a distinctive and extrmeely pleasant beer.
This is one of the best hop monsters I’ve ever had; and for me, it’s the best of the night at Hopfest ’06 by a substantial margin. I’d love to have it again at some point... Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 28, 2006 Mahogany with a foamy head and sheet lacing. Sweet nose of pine and lots of citrus. It is a touch floral with a smidge of bubblegum. Hops start out the flavor with a hint of the bubblegum again. Goes into a herbal and pink grapefruit phase. Ends bitter with sweet caramel malts. Sticky-sweet palate that is a bit cloying. Leaves the lips all sticky like. The bitterness fills out this beer. None to shabby. bitbucket (2036), Kirkland, Washington, USA

Creamy medium body. Bittersweet taste with fruit and malt dissolving to a lightly spice-bitter finish. after4ever (2822), Brier, Washington, USA

Some lace. Buckwheat nose. Very sweet chewy attack (by IIPA standards) and mid-palate. Sharp tangy finish that fades to bitter. Maybe the all-time sessionable IIPA/DIPA. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 15, 2006 Big spicy and raw, with a huge fresh hop aroma. Lots of soothingly sweet maltiness, fairly bitter, and very raw and aggresive on the hop profile. CAmes (32), Snohomish, Washington, USA

Like many other doble-IPAs, Homo is like a glass of grapefruit juice, in a good way. Oily, citrusy hops with some balancing sweetness. The alcohol was largely masked. I really enjoyed it.
