Bottled in December and billed as "My Old Kentucky Homo". Is that the best beer name ever? Perhaps. My favorite BB IIPA is Shorts Anniversary Part One, but this one may surpasss Shorts on the blending of barrel-aged flavors, hops, and maltiness without taking away from the initial version of the Homo. Excellent job Jacob! Skyview (4057), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 14, 2007 Sampled on tap at the brewpub in Stevenson, Washington during ABA Beer Tour ’07. Pours a semi-hazy coppery amber brew with a very thin off-white head that dissolves quickly to a ring. Aroma of candi sugar, vanilla, and a touch of toffee. Flavor is medium bodied, very little carbonation, with caramel malt and sweet bourbon. Finish is slightly sweet with bourbon aftertaste. The whiskey aging took away a large amount of citrus hop flavor and character compared to the Homo Erectus Double IPA. HopDevil1979 (117), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 14, 2007 Powerful bourbon nose and flavor. Simultaneously quite hoppy and malty. Notes of carmel came into play with this deep copper colored giant. As it warmed up it became creamier and gave off hints of vanilla and butter. Nice for the long dark days of winter! glkaiser (1171), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 8, 2006 Had at SIB. Dark amber with little head. Really thin. Nice sweet bourbon and vanilla aroma. Tastes like vanilla coke with bourbon. Very little hop presence....just sweet and thin with whiskey tastes. Doesn’t work for me. Killed the IPA flavors. HumuloneRed (750), Portland, Oregon, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 9, 2005 Sampled draught at The Rose & Raindrop, Portland Amber color, tan head, light lacing. Nose of light vanilla and oak, light sweet taffy & molasses. The flavor is creamy, fairly balanced & full of malts & savory+sweet combinations. The barrel aged qualities cut the hops and accentuate the already fairly high sweetness of regular homo erectus.
