Red-brown beer under a yellow head. Wood, US hops, but restrained, cashews, orange- or mandarinepeel. Wry, sweet-bitter in an excellent balance. Slick, viscuous, chewy, wry-woody in the mouth. Excellent beer sustaining the fame of its brewers.

snifters @ both beverage place barleywine bacchanal and hard liver - 2006 and 2007 vintages; both dark copper with slight haze; aromas of dates, figs and malts; no burn and very flat aftertaste that was more pronounced in the 2006; creamy texture and chewy finish; 2007 has more hops and 2006 is more subtle, but both pack a great punch

On tap at Walking Man in Stevenson, WA--Poured a rich amber body with a medium to small almond head. Big lacing. Full, rich creamy body with a nice chewy, robust finish. Quite warming and worth a second try if the opportunity ever presents itself.

Draft at Walking Man in Stevenson, OR on 7/22/07. Deep clear amber with an average off white head and excellent lace. Fruity aroma with a great fresh piney hop character as well. Medium to full body with a nice rich and smooth character. Lots of acaramel and a ong mildy bitter finish with some residual chewiness. A very drinkable barley wine
