Nose of plum, fig, raisin, peanut, alcohol and spruce. The flavor is creamy with a sweet toasty, chewy body and a spicy fruit and herb background. Finish is dusty but steady and sweet, yum. Borderline too much herbs and spruce notes but keeps it down to an enjoyable level. JoeMcPhee (5030), Jackson Heights, New York, USA

Nice sweet toasty chocolate aroma, light cooked banana esters. Toasty and chocolatey flavour, very creamy sweet body. Toffeeish, big banana flavour, some apple and other sweet fruits. Great malt complexity, easy to drink beer with a nice warming finish. 11026 (1779), Alabama, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 25, 2005 A doppelweizenbock brewed up by the folks at Walking Man. Served on tap at the brewery in a tall pilsener/wheat style glass. The beer is deep brown in color and impeccably clear. Slight ruby notes show when backlit. A dense, creamy light-khaki head sits atop the beer composed of tiny bubbles. Fair lacing is left behind in a sheeting manner. Fruity bananna aroma, some cherry? perhaps plum. Medium bodied with a pleasant carbonation level. Pleasantly malty, moderate amounts of alcohol burn, sweetness, plummy and a moderate hop balance towards the finish. LIngering notes of ripe bananna. Easy drinking, too easy for 9.2%. Kudos!
