Amber with an off white head with thick lace. Wheat wheat or soggy pils malts in the nose. Some notes of fruit and a little dusty. Flaavor contains lots of sweet malts and fruits. Some fruits with bitter hops and a touch of yeast. Finishes bitter and with a note of bubblegum.

Golden-amber with a light sparkle. Quite sweet. Light spice and lots of sugary almost sticky character. Clean as saisons go. Finish just gets more cloying and that really hampers this beer.

On tap at CAH. Light amber with a lot of effervescent character. The Saison flavor I was expecting didn’t show up to smack me about with it’s Belgian self...but very subtle flavor and a sweetness that gets a little overboard by the end of the chalice. For a Walking Man beer this is not my favorite, but for a beer compared to all others it’s pretty darn tasty. But really Bob makes great beer!

Update: On tap at the PDX Green dragon. This time I found this beer to have a nice crispness to it that it previously didn’t have. The esters were potent and spicy and brought the beer to life. Still a bit sweet and boozy, but a much easier drinker. On tap at Concordia Ale House. Pours amber, very cear, thin white head. This need more crispness and needed more carbonation. Felt very flat and lifeless on the palate, the spices were subtle and dull, the malts were sweet but had nothing to dry out the finish.

Draft at the Barking Dog in Seattle.

Well you’ve got to give them points for the name! Pours honey colored with a small head. Lemon and hay aroma, prickly carbonation. The flavor is mild beyond the sweet malt; this local effort at a saison that has hints of farmhouse character, but is more strongly driven by lemon tartness tempered surprisingly sweet malts. The refreshing saison character doesn’t ever really emerge, and the finish is not dry enough to help out.
