Sample - North American Organic Brewers Festival - Portland, OR
Aroma – Strong deep malt aroma. Good spices and aroma.
Appearance – Dark Amber color with a nice light head and clear.
Flavor – Huge strong ale flavor. This had great malt and hops flavors.
Palate – Good Mouthfeel, Strong ale texture with a dry finish.
Overall – One of the better beers for the day. This was a huge beer. This would be perfect for a cooler night and a great dinner beer.

Tap @ Bailey’s Tap Room... Menu labeled this as an Imperial Vienna. Poured amber with a thin, off-white head. Aroma of fresh hops and barley-malt. Smooth and silky palate, flavors of grains and malt with sweet, leafy hops in there. Maybe a caramel-like acidity that lends to a crisp hop finish. Reminded me of a pale ale.

This steam beer poured a deep dark amber with a nice fluffy off-white head. Nose of gritty caramel and citrus hops alongside and great bready character. Big bitter smooth finish that exposed heavy alcohol (9% I think) as it warmed up. One pint is enough to get the juices flowing.

On tap at the PDX Green Dragon. This was labeled as a imperial California Common. Pours deep amber with a small white head. Big hop nose, lots of citrus hops and an soft caramel base. Flavor starts with an earthy caramel sweetness, i’m not sure what an imperial california common would taste like, but this was just like an imperial IPA with some earthiness. Big bitter finish with a very strong hopping.
