Commercial Description:
This local favorite gets its huge malt flavors from Pilsner, Munich and Honey malts with a touch of flaked rye. The malt character is enhanced by the addition of fresh local honey in fermentation. This leaves us with unbelievably drinkable and smooth ale that takes on a golden honey colored tone with mild hop bitterness for contrast. 15 IBU

22oz unlabeled bottle. Interesting nose. Weird floral honey character, a bit of spice and some faint almond soap. Pours a mildly translucent orange-tinted amber, with a tall two finger head in banana flesh. Flavor is interesting. Rye bready with glowing honey. A touch thin, but the flavor profile is very nice. Delicate. Rye this time comes across as a palpable caraway-like bread flavor, as opposed to the submerged spicy malt flavor. Honey blends well with paler malts to make a decent profile. Body is a bit light, but it works with the high carbonation and delicate flavor of the beer. Alcohol not noticeable. Faint leafy hop touch finishes the beer. Decent.

Nice idea, i just thought it was lacking in the honey department. Very drinkable and sweet. A little on the spicy side.

On tap at Walldorff. Hazy orange-brown body, thin buff head. Light sweet honey aroma. Sweet honey body balanced by spicy, fruity, bready rye malts. Fairly simple but not bad.
