Brassy with small head retention. Easy balance of hops and light chocolate malting in aroma and flavor. The cask conditioned version is creamier, and the hops come through better.

On tap at the Walnut Brew Pub in Boulder, CO. Cask and regular pour side by side. They both poured a medium orange color with the cask version bing cloudy with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, lightly spicey and earthy. Tastes of citrus (stronger in the regular), caramel and spices (more apparent in the regular).

Draught at Walnut Brewery. Pours light nut brown with a thin off-white head and lined lacing. Chocolate and roasted caramel malt aroma with fruit and citrus hop notes. Hoppy/bitter start with a pine and citrus finish. Medium bodied and fizzy palate.

dark color for an ESB. Aromas didn’t really hit me over the head. A little bit of Noble Brit hops and toasty malts. flavors show tasted malts, carmel and crisp hops. Good, but nothing to write home about.
