Commercial Description:
Dark-colored, robust, full-bodied malt flavor. This smooth and drinkable ale is served on a nitrogen tap. The Devil's Thumb Stout goes well with any of our aged steaks. Or consider pairing with a chocolate dessert.

black beer with a light tan head. Aromas were pretty light, with notes of coffee, roasted malt. creamy mouthfeel due to the nitro. Just a bit astringent. with flavors of dark chocolate and roasted malt.

Deep black with a medium sized light brown head. Creamy texture, light chocolate and coffee flavors, mostly dark chocolate and some milk. Semi-smooth finish, almost nonexistant aromas... like some old, weak cold coffee.

I like stouts with a coffee taste and this one has it. The aroma and appearance were very appealing. I would have it again.

Dark black with a frothy tan head. Coffee-like nose. Very soft and smooth texture. Roasty and toasty with notes of coffee and chocolate. Mild bitterness sensation at first, but it becomes more pronounced in the aftertaste. Healthy dose of sourness is thrown in the mix. Overall, had a raw, "homebrew-like" quality to it that I kind of liked.

Head is initially average sized, creamy, light brown, fully lasting. Body is dark brown to black. Aroma is lightly malty (dark bread, roasted, dark chocolate, mild coffee), lightly hoppy (pine), with notes of charcoal and soy sauce. Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately bitter. Medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation. Very light/mild for a stout, but otherwise fine.
