Commercial Description:
Dark-colored, robust, full-bodied malt flavor. This smooth and drinkable ale is served on a nitrogen tap. The Devil's Thumb Stout goes well with any of our aged steaks. Or consider pairing with a chocolate dessert.

On cask: Pours a nearly opaque black with a creamy dark tan head. Aroma of sweet milk chocolate and dark caramel with some roasty coffee character. Body is rich and creamy with good dark malty sweetness and chocolate flavors. Well balanced with bittersweet dark chocolate and flavor hops before a smooth, flavorful, lingering roasty chocolate finish. A very nice stout, especially on cask.

Deep black with a medium sized light brown head. Creamy texture, light chocolate and coffee flavors, mostly dark chocolate and some milk. Semi-smooth finish, almost nonexistant aromas... like some old, weak cold coffee.

Head is initially average sized, creamy, light brown, fully lasting. Body is dark brown to black. Aroma is lightly malty (dark bread, roasted, dark chocolate, mild coffee), lightly hoppy (pine), with notes of charcoal and soy sauce. Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately bitter. Medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation. Very light/mild for a stout, but otherwise fine.
