Commercial Description:
Medium body, strong malty flavor, fine dry finish. A classic brown ale. Steaks and ribs are the best choices for our hearty, big-bodied Old Elk Brown Ale.

Draft at Walnut Brewery, brown/orange with white small head. Molasses and caramel. Flavor is also molasses and caramel. and citrus from hops. Easy to drink with sweeter very lightly bitter finish.

Sampler at the Walnut Brewery, Boulder 12/10/2008 Malt aroma. Mid brown coloured smooth on the palate and a little fruity with a crisp and dry caramel roast finish.

Crushed with Jakebra. One of the sweetest browns I’ve ever tried. Not sure it’s a brown. More like a dark amber. Some roast but too sweet. It’s still very drinkable with no poop.

Draught at Walnut Brewery in Boulder. Clear deep red/brown - offwhite head. Ryebread, sweetness, dryness, grainy, caramel, nutty, chocolate, high malty, mould, earthy. Nice light complexity. OK.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear orange coloured with a small off white head. Fruity aroma of malts, caramel, liquorice, hazelnuts and hops. Fruity flavour of caramel, liquorice and hops with notes of hazelnuts. Hoppy finish.

Tap @ brewpub. Clear brown color, short head. Some caramel, some chocolat. Ok bitter taste. Bit boring, but ok.
