Jun 10, 2009 From a bottle purchased at the brewery. Pours a dark golden color with a nice hoppy aroma initially. Caramel and malt body with a crisp hop finish. Would purchase and drink again.

Jun 1, 2009 Purchased in Queenstown, consumed and enjoyed in Queenstown as one of the few satisfying experiences I had down there with my clothes on.
Plenty of hop aroma, good flavour for a lager and good lingering bitterness. Seconds definitely, but in warmer weather.

Apr 11, 2009 Bottle at Minibar, Queenstown. Pours copper with small white head. Aroma of caramel and fruit. The flavour is caramel malt and fruit. Moderate hop bitterness. Medium bodied. Smooth and bitter finish.

Mar 28, 2008 Danish beer bottle. Pours a clear golden with a white diminishing head. Light sweet- and dryness. Quite malty. Caramel aromas with a nice bitterness. Hint of diacetyl. Mellow bitter finish.

Feb 7, 2008 (Bottle 33 cl) Clear, deep golden with a white, lacing head. Aroma of caramel and overripe fruit. Medium body with dry caramel accents, perhaps a little fruit and a dry, lightly bitter finish with a whiff of sulphur. Very clean and straight. Funny fact: this comes in a fresh Danish beer bottle, complete with the word "ŘL" in the glass bottom. Weird. 290108

Had this one from tap from the brewery pub. Very balanced brew. Nice.

Nov 26, 2007 I tried the beers on tap at the Wanaka Beerworks micro-brewery. I did the tour and tasted the 3 styles of beer on tap. Cardrona gold was flavoured with sweet caramel maltiness, pleasant medium hop flavour, and smooth clean finish.
