Clear orange-gold beer with a three-finger head that settles to a small creamy ring, leaving some nice little frosting on the glass. Aroma is slight: maybe some dry grain, apple cider, and a touch of honey. Flavor is dry Cheerios cereal, not-too-sweet dried apple, and a dash of bitter herbs. Toasted nut, and almost some cocoa in the aftertaste. Light medium body is smooth, but tingly with the right amount of carbonation, and surprisingly dry. Way underrated for the category. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Oct 4, 2009 Bottle. Surprisingly deep and dark, with a head that clings to the glass for dear life. Absent much aroma, this is a mellow, sessionable drinker -- a nicely balanced malty brew, with an artistic touch. This is what kills me about Ratebeer and why I don’t give it much attention any more -- this is a very, very well made beer. But because it’s not 12% ABV and doesn’t have a pile of some crazy ingredient in it, the 51 other nimrods who’ve commented on it leave it sitting at at 15 percentile overall. Ridiculous. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 9, 2007 Bottle from a sixpack pours a clear amber body with a large almond head. Retention is good and lots of sticky lace is left on the glass. Aroma is toasted grain and caramel accented by spicy hop. Body and carbonation are medium. Taste is malty toffee with a subtle spicy hop bitterness. Finishes clean. Pretty solid for what it is. Pleasantly drinkable. Cletus (5059), Connecticut, USA

Aroma is medium malt, slight spice hops. Taste is continental hops (Hallertau), secondary medium malt. Crisp. From others recent comments, seems like a bottling issue, as this was tasty.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 24, 2007 Bottle from Capone’s. Pours deep gold with 2-finger fluffy white head. Aroma of pale malt, hopcit, some honey-dipped apricot. Tastes of pale malt primarily, with notes of hopcitrus, honey, with a crisp, somewhat dry finish that retains its citric and slightly fruity character throughout. Not bad. hayduke (1679), Eureka, California, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 4, 2008 12 oz. bottle via trade with jsquire - Pours a slightly hazy amber color due to the sediment I accidently poured in the glass. Has a one finger thick off white head. Aroma is light esters and herbal hops. Flavor is lightly sweetened malt, faint esters, and light herbal hops. Light to medium body. What I like best about this beer is the cool bottle label. As an aircraft buff, a cool label like this one is worth a few extra tenths in the Overall slot. A nice addition to my aircraft bottle collection. Thanks Jeff.
