| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 17/20 | Jun 6, 2009 I shared a 12 oz bottle with MereLikesBeer. Got it from Andersons in Toledo OH. This poured a reddish brown with a tan head. The aroma was sweet and caramely. I thoroughly enjoyed this first impression from Warbird. It’s definitely a proper session ale that I would get again. Cheers! MereLikesBeer (158), Royal Oak, Michigan, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 6, 2009 This is a pretty tasty beer. I tried this beer with BeerBaron617 today, it was one of our road trip beers. It poured a nice sepia color with an off white head. The aroma was difficult at first to pinpoint. It is sort of sweet, malty and maybe toasted? I tasted it and thought it was watery, but decided that it just has a very light mouthfeel. It tastes a bit sour but sweet and like toffee a bit. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 2, 2009 Bottle from Pat’s Liquors in Porter, IN: I appreciate that this was named for a WWII ace’s plane, but when growing up in Chicago (admittedly many moons ago), the southside Irish considered the term to be highly insulting. The beer has a deep reddish amber body with a short-lived off-white head. It has a worty-sweet nose, caramelly and unchecked. The flavor is much the same but has a slight touch of roastiness and some fresh apples. Not something I’d drink again. Block (379), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 29, 2009 Dark brown pour with an off white head. Aroma of yeast and pale malts. Flavor of caramel and some roasted malts. Not too complicated. Medium body. Some alcohol in the finish. Schroppfy (1813), Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 28, 2009 I love the bread aromas and flavors in Irish ale, I really do. Incredible earthy nose, fresh baked bread (wheat, a touch of rye and sourdough), wet leaves. Flavor is all bread and some iron. Delicious. Body a tad thin, but intensely drinkable. Thanks Bfan2K!
