Aroma is slight cardboard and sherry with some malt sweetness and red fruit. Flavor is red fruit, same sort of oxidation that doesn’t take as much away from the beer as it did from aroma, sweeter and slight lacto-infection. Medium body and well-carbonated. Not bad but bottle isn’t in peak shape JaBier (1261), Capital City, Ohio, USA

Lots or caramel and sweet malts on the nose with not much else. Flavor is also very malty with caramel and toasted malts. Did not particularly care for this brew. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 8, 2008 Dark, copper colored body with a dense and long lasting khaki head on top. The nose is strong with a lot of caramel and peanuts. There is also some bread crust. The taste has sweet cake donuts with a little bit of spice in the finish. It is almost like coriander and burned almond shell. A decent enough beer, but a little sharp in that strange finish. awelfle (3), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Nov 30, 2008 I’ve been lucky enough to tour the Warbird brewery, and had a lot of fun doing it. As I was taking the tour, there was a mysterious tank that Dave Holmes, the brewmaster, said contained a brew made especially for the new Irish Pub opening in town, JK O’Donnells. We wanted to try it badly, but he stuck to his guns and didn’t let us.
A few months later, I went to the pub and tried this beer. It was a good mix between Newcastle and Guiness. It was very pleasing. The only criticism I might have about it is that the aftertaste isn’t great. But hey, if I just keep drinking it, the aftertaste will never happen, right? unclemike (833), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 10, 2008 Served in a pint glass at Biaggi’s in Fort Wayne, Indiana this came an attractive red color with off-white head and light lacing. Nose off caramel malts with a hint of burnt bread in the back, and some grassy hops. Rich and creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is heavy on the caramel mats, and the finish is slightly sweet with a hint of ripe fruit .Very easy to drink and enjoyable.
