Commercial Description:
Warhawk Pale Ale is the best pale ale I've ever tasted. It is a truly "drinkable" pale ale. Warhawk Pale Ale is an American-Style Pale Ale, which means that it has assertive American hop character. You can really taste the Cascade hops. But what makes this a "drinkable" pale ale is the malt. We use premium 2-row malt and 3 specialty malts to give this beer the full malt complexity required to balance a "hoppy" beer. If you're a Pale Ale fan, you will absolutely love this beer. I guarantee it.

Pours a orangey golden color with a one finger head that sticks around for a few minutes before dissipating. Aroma is citrus and floral hops, very nice! Taste is orange and grapefruit up front with the perfect amount of sweetness to offset the bitterness of the hops. Crazy drinkable. I wasn’t expecting much out of this local brew, but this is one of the best pale ales I have ever tasted. Wow! Excellent. Will be going back to get a 6 pack of this and a few of their other brews.

Thanks to Bob, Michelle, and mostly my baby Jana for the 12th annual Indiana Microbrewers Festival today! On tap @ the fest. Nose of flowers, pine & perfume. The brew is a clear copper. The beautiful cascade resolves into a fully lasting off-white head that leaves good lace. The beer is bitter through & through with moderate acidity. The medium body is creamy & soft. The finish feels crisp.

Bottle and served in standard pint glass: Pours a amber hue with a nice rocky frothy head and good lace. The aroma has notes of citric PNW hops, caramel and bready malts, clove and pepper, dusty yeast esters. By far the best nose of any of the Warbird entries. The taste has a restrained grassy and resiny hop note balanced by a clean malt character. Some spice and herbal tones upon the finish. The mouth feel is medium-bodied and above average for the genre, mildly aggressive and yet smooth finish. A high quality APA, hope the new brewer doesn’t screw this one up.

Bottled - GBBF 2008. An amber coloured beer with an off-white head. The aroma is nice rich hops. The taste has good balance and body; nice hops and malt. Rather good, and leagues ahead of the other Warbird beers.

@Indiana Beerfest-pours a offwhite head and copper color. Aroma is northwest hops, faint medium malt. Taste is northwest hops-Amarillo, some cascade, secondary medium malt.

Bottle. Pretty dark pour for a pale ale, like unpolished copper, with little to no head. The aroma is nice and foresty and this drinks with a nice robust pine syrupy goodness and a solid-as-oak malt underbase, too. Quite nice. (#3549, 5/22/2009)
