| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 23, 2009 Bottle and served in a no-nik pint glass: Clean deep golden hue with a fading fizzy head and minimal lace. The aroma has notes of honey, wet and caramel grains, phenolic vapours, moderate noble hops and hop spice, and a hint of apricot esters. The taste is bit too sweet and grainy as is often the case with this genre but there is just enough hop bitterness to keep it from becoming cloy. Sugary aftertaste and a hint of alcohol as well. The mouth feel is lightly sticky and lush. Standard fare for this type of brew, nothing special to seek out. Bought as a single, thank goodness. note666 (289), Eindhoven, Netherlands

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 17, 2009 Label doesn’t say strong (only the cap), but the ETOH is 7%. Clear amber, with a massive head that laces well. Malty aroma, perhaps some corn as well. Malty and a bit raw. Medium body. Typical of a continental beer in a grain region. mcdav2154 (297), Germany

Extremely malty taste. Almost overpowering. I’m enjoying it but if I had more than one of these in one sitting I’d probably like it less. Might drink again but I won’t seek it out. jredmond (1056), New Jersey, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 26, 2009 500ml can. A rather malty aroma. Amber colour with short lasting white head. Flavour is caramelly and very sweet, which is to my liking. The slight alcohol tang is almost drowned in the sweet maltiness. Drinks very easily and is not too carbonated. Very malty palate with slight hoppiness at the end.
