| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 25, 2006 bottle, Pours a see-through gold, though not without discernable strength of color. The head is foamy, white, and lingers for a while. The aroma is basically of fresh barley and that generic, corny lager sweetness. Not much going on in the way of taste either, though it is certainly more robust than many other pale lagers I’ve consumed. It’s obviously light and packs not much more than a breadiness in the initial wash over my palate. The finish brings out a bit of paper and corn husks. This isn’t laughably bad and I probably wouldn’t down anyone who may have chosen to sup this, but it’s definitely not my idea of a savory brew. . . considerable for refreshment on a hot summer day. Whatever, I’m going for an IIPA as soon as this glass is empty. Papsoe (15107), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 16, 2006 (Can 50 cl) Clear, amber golden with a crreamy, off-white head. Malty, lightly caramelish aroma. Full-bodied with accents of sweet caramel on a fairly decent malt base, while the alcohol doesn’t appear until the finish. Very discreet bitterness. Sort of like a double Vienna really.
Piwo o umiarkowanej cenie i można wlać w siebie kilka i mieć niezłą fazkę. Ale tak serio to 7% alku nie psujewrażenia. Nie czuć tak bardzo tego alkoholu. Polecam na wieczór. bubbleflubber (898), Collinsville, Virginia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 20, 2006 I’m sure this is the "Strong", even though it’s labeled as "Warka".... bottle, 500mL. Pours honey-brown into the glass, with an immediate spastic head that diminishes very quickly, leaving little to no lace. The aroma, which at first may be mistaken for sour vomitous, cleans very nicely into a burnt toffee aroma, warming still into a comforting caramel/toffee nose. The flavor follows in kind, with a caramel-toffee beginning... Interestingly enough, and also unfortunately, there can be noted some macro-corn (although not particularly heavy) evenly mixed in. The back is of a sugary, buttery espresso that quickly fades into the palate, leaving ever-so-soft coffee notes. Not a bad brew here, honestly. I definitely enjoyed it better than I thought I would, and am glad I picked it up to fill my "Mix-N-Match" 6’er in Chicago. If it rid itself of the macro-corn, this would be a beer of potential.... Maybe that’s why my rating is a little higher than average... I’m seeing past the bottle into the mystic.... konair1 (64), Chicago, Illinois, USA
