matt7215 (578), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada Jun 19, 2008 500 ml bottle from the LCBO. pours gloden with a fizzy head that is quickly gone. once you get past the dissapearing act performed by the head it actually looks very nice in the glass. aromas are malty with euro grain sweetness. no hops in the aroma. flavours are nice and tight. malt is balanced by hops and this brew is very easy to drink. id gladly have this anytime.
Liquidsunshine (7), Hurlstone Park, Australia does not count Oct 13, 2008 Deep gold in colour, the head was loose and reluctant. smells of caramel, brown leaves (how can you taste leaves?) and sultanas. Has a sweet/sticky mouthfeel, as others seem to mention a lot. JonnyDr (112), , South Yorkshire, England Oct 1, 2008 Golden pour with transient frothy head. Malt and grain give way to honey, water and alcohol. Very thin and hollow. gwpom (200), Akron, New York, USA Sep 26, 2008 12 oz. This years batch doesn’t have "Strong" on the label, but it’s 7.0% so it appears to be the same beer. Amber color, thin white head. It’s got a rough and smooth taste to it, which I know is contradictory, but still that’s what it feels like. The flavor isn’t bad, smooth and drinkable, but it leaves kinda a rough edge to it after the fact. Don’t know if I’d rate it this low, but I also probably won’t go back here. blipp (818), Grand Island, New York, USA Sep 15, 2008 Bottle. Pours amber with a off white head. Sweeter malt, grainy aroma with a hint of earthy hops. Flavor has grain, malt, trace hops, and faint boozy notes. yespr (6943), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 28, 2008 50 cL can. Pours clear and golden orange with a diminishing off-white head. Grainy to cornish aroma with a note of alcohol presence. Sweet caramelish and malty flavour, not unpleasant and nice compared to the aroma. Lingering caramelish to almost breadish finish with a light bitterness and alcohol presence as the beer warms up.
