Pawola22 (676), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Oct 28, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a crystal clear, pale copper colored body with a thin, fizzy, white head that dissipates quickly and leaves barely a trace of lace. Aroma is a slightly grainy, moderately sweet caramel with a hint of earth and flowery fruits. Flavor is watery fruits, a touch of earth, and some sweeter caramels with a hint of toast. Starts off thin, but builds in body and flavor towards the finish. Light bodied, somewhat dry, and thin on the carbonation. Lingers with a light bitterness and some moderate caramels. Overall, an unexciting Oktoberfest with a bland lager feel. Not terrible, but nothing to write home about. beerlover82 (100), Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 28, 2009 Deep golden yellow with minimal head and no lacing. Thin-bodied with typical lager taste. No hoppiness, some sweet malt flavor. Rather bland Tricountybeer (11), USA Oct 27, 2009 Clear golden pour with a white head that fades quickly. Sparkling. Good lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet. our beer club rated this beer High fata2683 (836), Panama City, Florida, USA Oct 25, 2009 bottle, pours ligh tgold, no head. Skunky aroma. Nice malty flavors, mildly sour. Definately not a marzen, more like a strong lager, too light. rampmaster (314), Alden, New York, USA Oct 24, 2009 Presentation: It was poured from a brown 11.2oz bottle into my Spaten Oktoberfest stange glass. There is a "best before end" date of 09.JUN.10 and it was sampled on 10-23-09.
Appearance: The body has a deep golden color with lots of nice carbonation and great clarity. A small bright white and loosely packed head sits on top but it quickly disappears and leaves no lacing behind.
Smell: The nose has light malt with a touch of toasted biscuit and some nice floral/perfume like hops. Also noticeable is a hard mineral water note in the nose.
Taste/Palate: The flavor has the same toasted biscuity malt and floral hops in the nose with mineral sweetness up front that quickly turns dry by the finish. The palate has a light to medium body with smooth yet active carbonation.
Notes: This was a very basic but very drinkable Oktoberfest beer. I did enjoy it but I would have loved more head retention!!!
BrewingFan (44), Texas, USA Oct 22, 2009 Aroma of malt and rice. It is a little light, a classic Marzen, but a little light for what I consider a good Oktoberfest. First couple sips are rough, give it a chance and it goes down smooth. Finishes up clean. oOJUXEOo (27), Pennsylvania, USA Oct 22, 2009 Pours very smooth, small to no head. Clean easy to drink. Not bad for the style. swoopjones (1862), Buffalo, New York, USA Oct 21, 2009 On tap @ Coles, Buffalo NY> Basically a euro lager with some malty sweetness added. Spritzy. Light yellow pour, little visual resemblance to a marzen. Pretty poor
