Bottle (not exactly fresh, but within a year). Grassy citric aroma, nearly skunked but again, I don’t think it’s an issue of age. Pale malts shining right through. Golden, clear body with minimal carbo and a light cream colored head. Taste is sweet and bready with light floral hops, medium body with lots of lemon. Slightly tart and nicely balanced. Sunny and cheerful. Thumbs up!

Bottle. Pours an orangy amber with thin fizzy white head. Aroma is slightly vegetal with an amount of caramel malt. Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly bitter. Initial hit of bready malts followed by caramel and a light grassy bitterness. Fizzy and thin. This might have tasted alright, in the right frame of mind, a few months back. Almost a waste of a clean glass to me now. I got a 12 pack cheap at Sprouts, I’ll drink the rest straight outta the bottle.

Draft 1/2 liter at Bier Garden, Portsmouth. Amber, glistening and clear. Germanic lacing. Light caramel/crystal aroma. Quite hoppy in its Teutonic way ... tightly tart over a well balanced malt. Superb examplar of the style and went awesome with cordon bleu. (#3353, 3/22/2008)

Yikes...bit late on this one...but should still be good. Pours a very, very clear yellow-gold with a frothy head that settles nicely. Aroma is very sweet malt and clean...light and pleasant. Flavor is malty, with accents of corn, caramel, and grains. Slight bitterness is left on the palate. Highly carbonated throughout keeps it from being a very quick drink. Not a bad example of a Marzen...would pick one up again!

Clear yellow with a slight tinge of amber and a thick, fizzy white head. Slightly sour malt aroma. Malty flavor, slightly sweet but nowhere near as rich as most oktoberfests I’ve had. Matter of fact, it was hard for me to think of it as anything but a lager ... wasn’t very impressed. Left half of it on the table, as it really wasn’t a very enjoyable beer.

Pours a translucent yellowish brown with a fizzy white head that quickly fades. Lots of carbonation in this beer. Aroma of malt. Taste of malt, a touch of caramel, and a touch of hops with a not too sweet sweetness at the finish. Nice example of the style, I can’t slam this one too badly because it’s still pretty good despite not being one of my favorites.
