On tp at Mahars. Poured a light orange with good body to it. Aroma was as expected, spicy and sweet. Flavor was the same, spiced and sweet, with not alot of punch, but good.

Bottle, BB 6/11/09. Poured clear, bright golden with faint shimmers of copper.. just a dusting of head stuck around. The aroma was sweet with notes of corn syrup and caramel at first.. hoppage was on the light side with some fruity and leafy presence. The flavor opened with lemon zest and almost oaky sourness on the tip of the tongue.. syrupy sweetness rolled in and ended up supporting a bit more of the lemon and some spicy bitterness.. finished sweet with caramel and corn. Light-medium bodied and tangy on the palate (which interfered with clearly evident underlying smoothness).. still very drinkable.

Thick mouthfeel, slighty sour and spicy, with hoppy citrus finish. Tasty oktoberfest

I’m a big Marzen fan, and jumped on this the first time it came to town. Sadly, it’s pretty weak as far as Marzens are concerned. Really lacks the barley richness others have. A good session beer probably, but nothing special.

Never had this one from the old country. Mild sweet malts, golden body and light bitterness. Anymore I get confused with Marzens/O-fests, the American versions seem to pack much more flavor than the German ones. And Warsteiner Oktoberfest is typical run of the mill Marzen beer.

Pours a light golden amber with a small head. Aromas of some malt and doughy yeast. Flavor is dissapointing light malts. A below average marzen style oktoberfest.

Pours a deep golden color with, like their premium beer, a thick white head that doesn’t stick around. Aroma is sweet malt and not much else. Taste is sweet malt and caramel with some faint hop bitterness. Refreshing and unoffensive, but no Oktoberfest characteristics whatsoever. I wish these German pils factories would leave this sort of thing to the Bavarian brewers.

Pretty lousy marzen. Very light color. Light hay aroma and flavor, no richness.
