Pours a dark brown with red hues and has a large tan head that slowly fades. Taste is of roasted malt, caramel, fruit and is slightly sweet. The body is thin. Similar aroma. Very clean and easy to drink. Not a bad beer, but it reminds me of Becks Dark, which is a bad thing. twindog (69), Hampstead, Maryland, USA Dec 30, 2008 aroma is very nice , appearance is dark brown/red with a nice 2" head , flavor kind of creamy / sweet nice coffee notes in as well, overall impression is not bad something i will would drink again jake65 (1657), Williston, North Dakota, USA Dec 30, 2008 Bottle: Dark brown with a finger of creamy beige head. Aroma of lager malt and a little grain. Tastes mildly sweet with maltiness. Very light hop character and a faint roasted note. More of a dark lager. Unimpressive. BeerHawk (1175), Huntsville, Alabama, USA Dec 23, 2008 Bottle best by 04JUL09. Poured dark brown with a frothy tan head. Aromas of wheat, roasted malts and light spices. The flavor found some chocolate malt with a light hop background. Light to medium body, soft carbonation, sweet beginning with a light bitter ending. Bradrcr (778), Renton, Washington, USA Dec 21, 2008 10/4/08 On draught at Leavenworth Oktoberfest, Leavenworth, Wa. Aroma is sweet light roast forward with a background of soft fruity esters. Appearance is slightly hazy brown with a moderate maintained off-white head. Flavor is sweet roast with munich malt forward with a slightly fruity character and medium roasty bittering. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a medium carb textre. Overall, this is the classic example, but a little light on character. Meatmallet (120), Salem, Illinois, USA Dec 16, 2008 Kind of a mahogany color with a small tan head that disappears quickly to leave a small head with very little lacing.
Smells like dark roasted malts and not a lot else.Taste is kind of dry with a sour carbonated bite. A carmel taste without any of the sweetness.Nothing special and definately not something I could drink more than one of.
