hoplover (166), Corpus Christi, Texas, USA Jun 13, 2008 Not too impressed about anything in this beer. Glad I tried it though. Kinda a good malty charachter. edmajorjoe (79), Vail, Arizona, USA Jun 5, 2008 Updated: Oct 4, 2008Warsteiner is a great tasting beer with a smooth delectable palate. It also makes for a great looking beer once poured into a pint glass. probstk (1005), Nepean, Ontario, Canada May 23, 2008 500 ml can from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass.
App.: Fairly deep mahogany, clear, fair light tan head.
Aroma: Light black coffee, lightly vinous and tart, a little wood, a touch of funk (hard to imagine), a bit of grain/cereal.
Palate: Macro medium body and carbonation.
Flav.: Cardboard up front (dang), a bit of medium-roasted malt, hints of caramel, a touch of wood; dry with almost no bitterness and a wee bit of caramel on the finish; lacking.
Nice colour but the nose and flavour don’t keep up. blutt59 (2042), Dallas, Texas, USA May 21, 2008 bottle, small head with cola colored body, malty nose with bland vaguely caramel and sugar flavors, watery finish jeremyd365 (109), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA May 16, 2008 Poured a solid dark chocolately color with little head. Smelled rich of malt, maybe a little hops, but nothing entirely destict. It tasted pretty good, but again, nothing too distict in the flavor. It felt medium to almost thin my my mouth but was a pretty drinkable beer to go with the tacos I was having for dinner. kidmartinek (972), austin, Texas, USA May 7, 2008 Congratulations to be a drinker of the Anheuser Buschs’, of Germany, Warsteiner’s, pour, not poor, excuse to a dunkel, which is actually their shitty pale lager now with darker color! Dark brown 1 inch tan head, medium malt aroma with sugar, and corn present. Empty bubble crap foam. Water mouthfeel. Lager sugar, corn taste, crap! Drink a beast light instead and save money. The name, VaarSchteiner, not Warsteiner, has nothing to do with quality brewing, and everything to do with mass production and profiteering. Yeah, yardpour people! Stop rating beer based on name people and start rating it on quality and tate. Any beer that has corn in it, and you can go fuck yourself!. Speedle (262), Mid-Atlantic (Tour 2007-2008), Virginia, USA May 7, 2008 malty aroma ... dark brown black ... light nutty taste ... watery mouthfeel ... easy drinking ..... good choice when the alternatives are BMC ... clean crisp finish ... no major objections just a good middle of the road beer that is readily available ronco (6), Canada does not count May 6, 2008 One of my favourites. Its easy drinking with a crisp gold appearance. Absolutely delightful and refreshing. Highly recomended amazing German beer.
