morrdt (608), Jacksonville, Florida, USA Mar 25, 2008 Single bottle from Total Wine in Jacksonville. Pours a nice medium brown color with virtually no head to speak of. Aroma is nice roasted malt. Taste is also roasted, nice finish. This is better than expected. Illuminatus (87), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Mar 25, 2008 500mL can from the LCBO. Pours a nice dark brown. Plenty of sweet malt, only lightly hopped, not very bitter. Decent as is, would be excellent if it weren’t a touch thin in the mouth. Tilley4 (218), Huron, Tennessee, USA Mar 22, 2008 Huh? I don’t understand the low scores with this one. I loved it!
Beautiful clear dark amber coloring with good carbonation, this brew is eminently drinkable. Very dark and malty, it’s a touch sweet but not overly so and could easily be a common session brew for me. I even detect a little coffee in this one. thepegjett (92), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Mar 15, 2008 sweet burnt caramel aroma. Looks exactly like a glass of coke. Very light, but nice flavor, sweet if anything. I enjoyed this light dark beer. pubbe (493), Højbjerg, Denmark Mar 9, 2008 Bottle. Dark copper colour with mostly diminishing white head. Nice hoppy and malty aroma with a hint of smoke. Flavor somewhat weak. Runs a little watery on the palate. Average finish. Certainly not the best o dunkels - but rather nice though. Rynoplasty (500), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Mar 3, 2008 Pours clear brown with a smallish off white head. Aroma is malty, mainly pale malt with a lttle roasted malt in the nose as well. Taste is fairly light but the same. Not a bad beer, but a little light on the flavor side. AskForJenny (627), Ontario, New York, USA Feb 27, 2008 0.33l - Brown liquid under tan head, aroma of dark bread, smoky and nutty palate. Good. Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam Feb 25, 2008 Sample @ Hallandale beer fest (bottle). Thin-looking dunkel with wimpy head. Bland sweetish aromas and caramel flavors. A little salty but finish is actually clean and it’s not bad.
