leelavu (9), USA does not count Jul 24, 2007 To me this smelled just like a plain old beer. I really did not care for the taste either. After reading the other reviews I think I may try it again just to see. AJBaird (1), USA does not count Jul 20, 2007 Smoothest Dunkel I have yet found. Rich, yet smooth. Mahogany-coloredwith a slightly hoppy aroma. Long lasting, smooth finish. My favorite. Exceptional on tap, but hard to find. pet3rman (206), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 20, 2007 Easy to drink alot of. Smooth with medium body. Malty with a subtle chocolate hint. I rate it as good. Very sessionable. colts9016 (198), Idaho, USA Jul 19, 2007 A light brown head about 1/2 in thick. Coffee, malt and a hint of molasses and earth whiff at your nose. The color is a dark brown with tints of red. The is an initial fmoderate sweetness. The finish is some what long with coffee and molasses and a hint of earth. There is however a slight hint of citrus on the end which makes it a little bit astringent. It is good beer overall and easy to drink. The body of the beer seems to be light and moderate. The texture is syurpy carbonation flat djd07 (721), Houston, Texas, USA Jul 19, 2007 Bottle. Pours a brown color with a small off white head that diminshes quickly. The aroma is light hops with hints of caramel. The taste is very smooth with a sweet clean finish. I enjoyed this one and am looking forward to having it on tap. jefcon (997), Arlington, Virginia, USA Jul 18, 2007 Mahagony brown with a clingy off-tan head. Aromas of roasted malts, a little smoke, and medium caramel. Grabby up front on the palate. Good carbonation. Very dry finish. Woody, roasted, slightly citric flavors. Finishes clean. puggy211 (576), cordova, Tennessee, USA Jul 17, 2007 12 oz bottle, nice beer.caramel, roasty, red, brown, clear, white foam, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, medium sourness, medium body, sticky, average carbonation, long finish, I like beer. Drjohnrock (95), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jul 15, 2007 On tap, poured into my 32 ounce/1 liter/whatever plastic souvenir mug at the annual Schuetzenfest festival put on by The Kolping Society, one of the many German heritage organizations in Greater Cincinnati. Faint malt/cheap grain aroma, color of standard commercial coffee, light body, faint malt taste overcomes the rancid notes that are more prominent in Warsteiner "Premium" Verum. Better than the "Premium" Verum but that’s hardly a ringing endorsement. For some reason, Warsteiner brands seem to increasingly be the only ones on draft at the beverage booths at the German societies’ festivals. Oh well, bring on the Germania Society’s Oktoberfest, where you can go to the clubhouse and get the same variety of beers the group’s members can.
