Slight spicy maltiness with clean finish. Traditional dark brown German lager. Very drinkable. rayg1 (437), Ft. Mill, South Carolina, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 26, 2006 Pours brown with an off white head. Aroma is faint so faint I cant’ get a good read of what it is. Taste is of wood and earth wich was kinda interesting i guess. Like the rater before me I too detected no hops. Malts make themselves known and a thin mouthfeel. topherh (899), Kearney, Missouri, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 24, 2006 Bottle, poured brown with a quickly diminishing off white head. Taste is malty with little to no hops detected. Nice light bodied easy to drink beer. BigBen2120 (688), Derry, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 22, 2006 Brown but translucent body with almost no carbonation or head. Interesting smell. Roasty and caramel dominate. Tastes very roasty with caramel and coffee notes. Very very good. Well balanced despite the presence of afformentioned flavors and scents. Pretty good for a lager. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 15, 2006 On tap in a Kings pint. Small head, fell quickly to nothing. Not even surface bubbles. Too dark to determine clarity. A solid middle-of-the-road lager. Comparable to Mexican dark lagers, but slightly maltier. jgentgesdo (564), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Aug 11, 2006 Pours brown with very small off-white head. Nose is creamy, sweet, nutty. Flavor is as well, too sweet for my taste, and a touch of off flavor - old bottle maybe? Rather musty, not as clean as I expect a dunkel, and some fruity flavors as well.
