lunatic77 (14), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Aug 3, 2006 on tap: this is a nice straightforward dark beer. not too unique, but good nevertheless. seemed very compatible with the irish food i was having at the time. redlem (1155), Illinois, USA Jul 24, 2006 Does the whole " no time to waste on cheap beer" ad apply to this? Pours dark brown w/o much head. A clean aroma and taste, nothing stands out. Fairly blah. Scubatrip (387), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA Jul 23, 2006 On tap, I really wasn’t impressed with this beer. Pours black, with very little head that dissipates quickly. Very weak in the nose, and not much to write home about as far as taste either. Bland and watery come to mind, with some light chocolate and lighter caramel flavors. Not impressed with this one. biznizness (930), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA Jul 23, 2006 Decent brew... a bit of a caramel in the flav. A drinkable but not very memorable brew. ph0tik (71), Denver, Colorado, USA Jul 21, 2006 Pours a dark brown, looks like a cola. Strong malty, yeasty aroma with a hint of chocolate. Thin off white head. Watery with not alot of pop except at the end. Would be good to cool down a spicy dish. Clean finish. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 14, 2006 Six pack bottles sampled. Pours brown with a small quickly dissapating white head. Aroma of caramel malts, spices, toffee, and chocolate. Flavor is caramel, toffee, chocolate, and slight bitter hops. Thin watery body, but drinkable. hayduke (1619), Eureka, California, USA Jul 5, 2006 In Weimar, Germany. Bottle. Poured dark brown with a medium head. Aroma of malts dominate. Lighter tasting than it looks. Decent mouthfeel. OK, but not outstanding. DuffMan (2719), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Jun 27, 2006 Dark brown with nutty chocolate aromas that are not backed up by as much flavour as you’d expect. Pretty thin malt character, and thin in the mouth overall actually. Definitely not my favourite dunkel.
