kingfiogojr (78), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Jun 25, 2006 Loved this one. Dark brown, translucent, minor white head. Delicious taste of roasted coffee, balanced with a wheaty mellowness. A terriffic beer for all seasons. Not heavy as to be a bogging-down beer. ilovedarkbeer (1326), Dallas, Texas, USA Jun 20, 2006 Pours dark brown with almost no head. Very flat with decent taste. I actually enjoyed this beer because it is very different but has a chocolate/ toffee taste with a strange buttery after taste. goldtwins (4078), Nesconset, New York, USA Jun 19, 2006 Poured a mahogany clear color with a cream colored head. Sweet roasty malt aroma and flavor. Flavor had light chocolate and toffee notes. Nice clean finish. MattShizzle (385), Bernville, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 17, 2006 Bottle. A good Dunkel. Clean tasting, but flavorful. Roasty, but not overwhelmingly so. uglyblond1 (173), Nebraska, USA Jun 13, 2006 Deep brown/amber, clean dry malt flavor, medium body, robust hop presence. Roasted biscuit flavor on a dry malt background. A nice beer. TheBeerOrg (1563), Kentucky, USA Jun 13, 2006 Pours dark amber with a thin, mostly receding off white head. Aroma of toasted malt, light bread, and caramel. Taste is sweet chocolate and caramel malt, with a bit of chewiness for added body. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with lively carbonation. A clean and drinkable dunkel. BBB63 (4198), La Porte, Indiana, USA Jun 8, 2006 Bottle and served in a big ole stein: Poured a rich mahogany hue topped a fading frothy beige head and okay lace. The nose is a weak characterisctics of caramel, toffee, walnut, allspice, and grassy hops. The taste clean blend of malt and noble grassy hops balanced sweet and bitterness. Sadly for the balance there is little depth. A session Dunkel bier I guess. There is a note of a vegetal flavor on the aftertaste which is lightly distracting. The mouth feel is fizzy and watery. I too was left wanting more, an almost macro dunkel, sad. iowaherkeye (1832), Bakersfield, California, USA Jun 4, 2006 12oz, <!-- i -->Best before end: 11.Nov.06<!-- /i -->. Pours a clear mahogany with a tiny light beige head. Aroma of toasted malts, nuts, biscuits. Taste is very nutty and biscuity, with a little bit of sourness toward the end. Slight bitter chalky finish. Light bodied, soft carbonation. Not a bad beer.
