Pawola22 (676), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Jul 23, 2009 On tap at the Flying Saucer in KC. Pours a clear, very deep reddish brown body with a finger-width, creamy, tan head that dissipates quickly and leaves a light lacing. Aroma is semi-sweet caramels and lots of fruits. Has a distinct lager yeast smell as well. Similar flavor. Slightly metallic and tastes like a lager with a more nutty, deeper caramel taste. Very sweet with lots of nuts and fruits as well. Just a light amount of chocolate and semi-bitter roast comes in at the end with plenty of sweet fruits and malts lingering in the aftertaste. Dry, light bodied, and just a touch of carbonation keeps this very smooth. Overall, can’t really complain about this one. Nothing exceptional at all, but tasty enough. bdjames29 (272), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jul 19, 2009 Bottle. Previously described as weak coke.....that would be a fitting description. A poor beer. Vertical Bacon Strips (874), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jul 15, 2009 This won’t take long cause I’m going to get rid of this as fast as possible. Plain brown beer that looks closer to weak coke, large foam-up and a death just as quick - odd pink??? Must be the lights in here today. Dusty smelling malts, caramel and darker fruit, very mild tobacco and an odd stink. The taste is a touch sour, tonic wwater like, some carbonation and off flavoured biscuity malts. Dry, light bodied beer with no finish. A total waste of money. MrRoss (614), Delta, British Columbia, Canada Jul 7, 2009 Updated: Jul 8, 2009Poured a dark amber beneath a creamy white head, pinky finger thick only. Aroma was mostly malt, maybe with a wheat undertone, and taste was rather much the same. Mouthfeel was rich and solid, and despite the aforementioned malt, the finish was not overly sweet. A pretty nice beer, and I’m good for more. leems (147), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 5, 2009 Draft pitcher at Gustav’s, Dark clear pour. Caramel, biscuit on the nose. flavor is darker than I expected but still light on the tongue. Beardface (977), Eugene, Oregon, USA Jun 26, 2009 Draught at Gustav’s. Dark brown pour with a solid white head. Aroma almost entirely caramel malt with some light nuttiness. Flavor has a bit of roastiness, but mostly just standard malt. Not bad, very sessionable at the very least. dkoonce (880), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA Jun 20, 2009 Bottle. Pours clear brown, with a massive head that fills the glass, and then some. The aroma is minimal, with malt, caramel and alcohol. Light and malty, typical of a German beer.
