Very light smell, kind of weaker in color then i expected. The taste more then makes up for that, and that what counts in my book. Its not a heavy beer, but it has a nice acidic, malty taste. The aftertaste is supreme. I stil think Sam Adams black lager is better then this. I like it though, alot.

we used to drink warsteiner by the pitchers at one of our favorite watering holes...$5.oo cant go wrong. its an aquired taste has a bit of a metallic taste. less alcohol then expected and a bit thin. roasted malt knocks a bit but not forbidding.

The Dunkel (dark) Warsteiner is better than the Premium Verum. I first had this at the OKtoberfest in Cincy and had so many it took me a few years to give it a try. Smooth, heavy on the palate, and slightly effervescant with a lingering after taste.

Pours a dark light brownish black with heavy carbonation. Faint aroma of sweet malts and hops. Flavor follows aroma... seems very thin. Refreshing, but disappointing.

Bottle: A darker version of the original Warsteiner, falls bit short on overall taste and I would expect more body from a dunkel, too light.

You can never go wrong with the price! This dunkel lager is a must to try if you enjoy any German beer. Although my true preference is a strong doppelbock, a flavorful warsteiner lager is always a good choice for an afternoon drink during any season.

Odd pour that looked remarkably like a cola, including carbon bubbles. Thin head that lingers (again like a cola). Weak scent. Highly carbonated. Watery bubly taste with some maltiness. Very easy to drink, would be good for an all nighter session.
