roder60 (1019), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 12, 2005 Pours a clear bubbly brown with a small amount of quickly dissapating white fizzy head. Aroma is sweet malts, a little bit of nuts, and a sweet grass undertone. Flavor is very thin, dry, grassy, and not the sweet malty nutty flavor I had hoped for. This seriously tastes more like a slightly sweet pale lager than a dunkel. Overall, dissapointed. Dextolen (151), Michigan, USA Jun 15, 2005 Bottle. Pours rich brown, sweet malt aroma. Nice and smooth, a real drinker. I want to find this at $24 a case like one of the other reviewers! CRice00 (4), USA does not count Jun 11, 2005 Big fan of this classic. Great sweet, malty taste and aroma to this brew. It has a soft fnish and doesn’t leave any bitter aftertaste. MrManning (1634), London, Ontario, Canada Jun 8, 2005 Cheers to the boys at the Keaton for beinging this in! Pours a dark brown body with a finger of mocha coloured head that lasts. Aromas are nutty, mild coffee, malty. Taste is sweet nuts, malt, and some mild bitterness. Finish is creamy, smooth, with a mild bitter finish. A decent brew! KAggie97 (2406), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Jun 5, 2005 A nice, light dunkel that could be enjoyed like a session beer. Pours a decent brown with a decent head. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, and the taste is a bit subdued but that doesn’t stop this from being a good middle-of-the-road beer. Nice hints of yeast, nut, and caramel are in the flavor, just not as prominent as in a higher quality dunkel. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jun 4, 2005 Draft. Dark brown body, thin white head. Pretty average flavor: dark roasted caramel malt, bit of soapy hops in the ifnish. Medium-thin mouthfeel. Light version of the flavor in the aroma. A perfectly nice beer, just nothing remarkable. Styles (1654), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA Jun 3, 2005 Pours dark amber in color with no head. Aroma is burnt malt/grain. Flavor is all residuel sugar, but weak. A little thin on the palate also. Has always been a "look I’m drinking good beer" beer at our local pub. Go figure. rverb361 (19), USA Jun 2, 2005 Pours dark brown color, flavor is a bit nutty and sweet with little in the way of hops bitterness.
