AWS9 (222), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada May 18, 2009 Can. Pours nice dark brown, with a foamy white head that recedes into a fine lacing. Primarily a malt aroma, with a hint of Euro-style hops. Sweet maltiness, with some hops, nut, toastiness. A little hollow in the finish. Solid. bconley (351), Fern Park, Florida, USA May 14, 2009 Tap at german springfest. Kind of warm. Dark brown body. Incredibly sweet malty. Not terrible. Wasn’t bad for a hot day. JediMindTricks (240), Hampton, Virginia, USA May 13, 2009 Dark brown body witha few red hues. Foamy tan head. Sweet, nutty lager aroma. Rather plain nutty soft malt flavor...it is what it is... Papillon (172), Sudbury, Ontario, Canada May 13, 2009 500 mL Can. Deep brown body with a foamy pale beige head that settles to a foamy ring lacing the sides. A very inviting aroma of rich sweet malts with a hint of treacle; it says "good beer!" with an astringent note about it that is likely coming from the hops. Rich dark malts make up most of the flavor with a syrupy innuendo, floral and nutty notes in the aftertaste, and a sweet dark malt finish. Gutes Bier! AGAquino (73), San Juan, Puerto Rico May 10, 2009 On tap at West 50 in Nississauga, clear ambar colour with small tan head and lasting lace. Slight malty aroma and flavour. joeyplush (328), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA May 3, 2009 Dark chestnut brown with a tan head. Good aroma of roasted malt and nuts, taste is a bit watered down vs. the scent, but still has a nice smooth malty body. Finishes pretty quick - not as much of a lingering aftertaste as you’d expect from a good Dunkel. Zinister (1199), Houston, Texas, USA Apr 30, 2009 Dark brown with small egg shell head. Nose of malts, banana and nuts. Flavor is a bit of sweet malts, nuts, caramel...all with a slightly bitter finish. Enjoyable. aaronhaywood (74), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Apr 25, 2009 The beer that made me like dark beers. A very woody, natural dark flavor. I could drink this like I drink milk.
