| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 7, 2003 Light brown - poured with a small short head. I got way too much sweetness in this, almost like someone added high fructose corn syrup. Not horrible, but not all that great either. Crit (2409), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada

Enjoyed it more on draft than I did in the bottle (the latter, which took on a slight grassy taste). I was left wanting more from this German dunkel, but would have one again. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jun 17, 2008 Bottle: Poured a deep clear brown color dunkel with a medium foamy head with average retention and no lacing. Aroma of light sweet caramel malt is pretty neutral. Taste is very bland with light caramel malt with not much character. Very bland and boring version of the style and not something I am about to buy again anytime soon. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA
