Large tan/light brown head with good retention and lace. Clear mahogany color, good lookin brew. Faint malt nose, lightly nutty and doughy. Med/light body, lightly creamy mouthfeel. Medium dry malt flavors, caramel, moderately sour, with a touch of roast in the dry finish. Surprisingly drinkable!?

Bottle. Pours dark amber, though taste is very light. A bit sweet on first taste, nice hoppiness to the finish. I have had a pretty decent range of tastes from this beer, depending on freshness.

On tap. Pours out a dark amber topped with a off white head. Aroma of sweetness and malt. Nice body of roast malt.

In Weimar, Germany. Bottle. Poured dark brown with a medium head. Aroma of malts dominate. Lighter tasting than it looks. Decent mouthfeel. OK, but not outstanding.

Pours dark amber in color with no head. Aroma is burnt malt/grain. Flavor is all residuel sugar, but weak. A little thin on the palate also. Has always been a "look I’m drinking good beer" beer at our local pub. Go figure.

Cheers to the boys at the Keaton for beinging this in! Pours a dark brown body with a finger of mocha coloured head that lasts. Aromas are nutty, mild coffee, malty. Taste is sweet nuts, malt, and some mild bitterness. Finish is creamy, smooth, with a mild bitter finish. A decent brew!

Bottle. Pours a clear brown with minimal tan head and zero lacing. Nose is caramel malts and nuts. Taste reminds me of sweet tea you get in the south that’s a couple days old… sweet, but with some stale funk. Medium mouth feel. A little flat and dull.

12oz bottle 8/30/09 (Binny’s Naperville)-Pours dark brown iwth some amber tints and a small off white head. Aroma of nothing. Taste of malt. This light bodied is almost as bad as their basic beer. Unimpressed but still decent to drink.
