Jun 20, 2006 Pours dark brown with almost no head. Very flat with decent taste. I actually enjoyed this beer because it is very different but has a chocolate/ toffee taste with a strange buttery after taste.

Sep 28, 2004 Drinkable Dunkel with roasted malts and some smoked flavor. Picked up a twelve pack for mass consumption at Wildwood, NJ’s annual Irish Fall Festival.

Apr 26, 2008 Draught @ Fox & Hound: This one pours with a decent sized white head on it. It doesn’t linger long. There was no real lacing to it. The color is a ruby-tinged brown. The aroma was OK, although not too strong. notes of molasses, caramel, maybe a hint of roastiness. Slightly less than a medium body. The taste was slightly sweet with notes of the caramel and molasses. A hint of hops for balance. Not very exciting, but very drinkable.

Sep 18, 2005 Roast grain and coffee aroma. Truely brown color with a thin head. Sweet with a light coffee flavor and a hint of bitterness. Lacking in body. Somewhat one dimensional.

Oct 19, 2007 roasted grain aroma only a whisper, though it LOOKS like a respectable beer; fluffy pale tan head, dark clear umber hue. tastes like iron on the front of the tongue, mild sweetness and an absent hop balance.

Aug 13, 2001 Updated: Mar 21, 2003Had a nice tall glass of this, and I was pleased down to the last drop. A nice color and aroma, and flavor that is just as nice. Some hints of dark coffee on the backend of the aftertaste. Nice.
