| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 17, 2003 Dusky appearance with a fair sized head. Not much of a nose; a little woody/nutty. Smooth, light bodied malt taste with a touch of sweetness. Lacks complexity. A middle-of-the-road dunkle from a brewery that could do better. jrob21 (1278), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 10, 2008 I was surprised to see I had not rated this yet. Anyways, pours clear straight brown color. Aroma of mainly toasted grain and wheat. Flavor is a little light after such a big aroma. Slight caramel sweetness and bread flavor. Bit of a bitter finish. Those hops surprised me a bit. This is one of those beers you give to your friends who say they do not like dark beers. MI2CA (1266), Noblesville, Indiana, USA

Poured a dark almost black color with a nice head and fair lacing.
Aroma of sweet malt. Sweet malty flavor with a bit of chocolate at the finish, a bit to sweet for my tastes. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA
