| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Oct 12, 2003 Poured a dark brown with almost no head. Aroma was faint and of malt. The flavor was smooth, but a bit thin. I had hoped for a more robust beer. Not bad, but I probably won't get it again. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 27, 2004 Pours dark brown with red luster, minimal head that dissolves quickly. Aroma is roasty with a hint of sweetness. Initial taste is rather bland, with some roasted and caramel taste. The body is somewhat thin with about as much carbonation as a soda. The finish is rather bitter but ephemeral. I prefer to drink it cold from a bottle when I’m looking simply to quench my thirst but I’m not in the mood for a pale beer. Otherwise, nothing spectacular. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 1, 2008 Jan. 2006 - Pour was obviously a very dark brown color, with smallish head. Roasted aroma was there, but not overwhelming. The most prominent feature of this beer was the very, very carbonated mouthfeel. Flavor was very mild, which I didn’t mind so much since I’m not a big dunkel fan. But I could see how a real German beer aficionado could be left wanting more. redlem (1155), Illinois, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 24, 2006 Does the whole " no time to waste on cheap beer" ad apply to this? Pours dark brown w/o much head. A clean aroma and taste, nothing stands out. Fairly blah. Cartoonkhaki (1150), Brantford, Ontario, Canada
