| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 20, 2009 Bottle. Pours clear brown, with a massive head that fills the glass, and then some. The aroma is minimal, with malt, caramel and alcohol. Light and malty, typical of a German beer. Jine (896), Nutley, New Jersey, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 23, 2004 Updated: Sep 6, 2005Rerate from December 2004. Much better this time around. In the 50th percentile, but if this were an Anheuser Busch brew everyone would be gushing about how good a beer they made for once. Anheuser World Select is not good, and they try so hard. This is good. Taverner (886), San Ramon, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 9, 2009 Aroma is must and a little sweetness from the malts. Flavor is full on Dunkel - seems like a pretty standard representation of the style. Notes of nuttiness, wood and a little smoke. Very light in the hop department - but still a nice dry finish. Pours auburn/brown with white head. ultraspank (866), Dublin, Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 20, 2002 Let it be known that I have yet to meet a Dunkel that impressed. This brew pours a dark brown with red highlights. The average off-white creamy head has good lacing. The light and clean fresh flowery aroma is primarily caramel malt. The ultra-balanced flavor again is primarily caramel sweetness, with a decent long finish. My only complain there is that it is bland and not complex. The light to medium body is creamy with lively carbonation and a metallic finish. mgermani (865), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Mar 13, 2007 Pours a dark purple-brown with a moderate head which dissipates quickly. Lager-yeast and hop aroma, dark and fruity. Unmalted grain taste - grain-like and unrefined. Bready yeast, malt-beverage aftertaste. Low on carbonation, creamy body but thin. Overall a cheap half-complete beer. msante79 (852), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 15, 2008 11.2 oz bottle. Pours reddish brown with creamy tan head. Aroma is caramel and roasted malts. Flavor is of caramel, toffee and roasted malts. My first dunkel so unsure what to expect. This was a little watery for my liking but with caramel and roasted malts it is enjoyable. jzzbassman (852), New Albany, Mississippi, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 12, 2006 Other than just not looking good in a glass the 2x I tried this weekend. Toasted malt, clean, without the artificial caramel flavor I find in so many dunkels. All around very well made. IlanMan (850), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 6, 2008 Pour was medium dark with light tan head. Aroma of light caramel and malt. Flavor was watered down grain finishing lightly bitter and sweet. Clean and refreshing but nothing special. Won’t buy again.
