Aroma is strongly malty with a hint of caramel. Flavor is well-rounded, not complex but delicious and satisfying, malty with just a hint of hops and a whisper of sweetness. Rather smooth and pleasant. Heathen (810), Riverside, New Jersey, USA

But it will still be one of my favorite session beer. It is a good beer that at least in NJ is very affordable. PA prives for it are more than double. One of the first imports or speciality beers I bought on a regular basis. Just a little too much mustiness underlying in the aroma and flavor keep it from being great, and that might just be from travel.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a meium brown with orange highlights and a small to average, white head that mostly diminished but left fair lacing. The aroma was light to moderate hay, strw and carmel malts with moderate to heavy grassy hops and moderate doughy yeast. The initial flavor is light to moderate sweetness and light bitterness, while the finish is heavily sweet and moderately bitter and sour with an average duration. The gody is light to medium with a watery, yet dry texture fizzy carbonation and slightly chalky, lightly astringent finish. cb (809), Wheat Ridge, Colorado, USA

Pours a medium, off white heaad, of poor duration, with minimal lacing, over a dark brown (SRM 30) clear body....nose is roasted malts with heavy cereal, bit of biscuit....taste is heavy light roasted malts with cereal, slight toffee, caramel....mouth feel is light to medium, carbonation high. This meets the style reasonably. beachbum25 (800), Powellville, Maryland, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Oct 18, 2004 Updated: Dec 6, 2004On tap this beer had a great head. The lacing was good, a bit different than i’m used to, it was very even. Although it was very clear, it was dark and I couldn’t see through it. The body was very thin, but they market it as light bodied. It was very clean tasting, but not very complex. It was a decent beer, but lacked in flavor. LiebeBier (793), Annapolis, Maryland, USA
