Instead of rating from memory I bought the most accessible one. Pours a normal dark amber/brown color with a small off white head. Aroma shows fresh pilsner malts, light chocolate and crackers. Very malty. Flavor is smooth with just a hint of graham crackers. Very dry and light bodied, not a huge flavor packer. I actually liked this style when I had it from the source. This one doesn’t live up but it’s a style I could dig. TheJester (720), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 1, 2007 330 mL bottle. Dark mahogany brown with absolutely no head. None. Sweetish caramel malty aroma. Taste is quite malty, and there may be a little malt in there. Very mild on the hops. Medium to thin body. Disappointing. jbye4334 (719), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 21, 2004 hick, dark brown beer with a thick creamy head that disappears VERY quickly... Nice pour... Good color, tastes like it looks-dark and stormy with a hint of full-bodied excitement. CelticBrew (713), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 11, 2008 12 oz. brown bottle. Poured out the color of brown shoe polish, with a minimal white head on it. Aromas are of roasted malts, some yeastiness, and not much else. I can barely detect a smattering of hops, but it is fleeting. Tastes are of malts, some coffee notes, yeast, and a slight, but quickly disappearing note of hops. Slightly bitter tasting, but it’s more from the malts than the hops. Mouth feel is smooth enough and the finish slightly bitter, but this is essentially a macro dunkel. Drinkable enough but not complex. fraternie (710), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 21, 2003 Thin, dark body, little head. Aroma is fruity and sweet--grapes and plums. Malt body starts sweet, a touch sugary with very light notes of caramel. Finishes lightly bitter. A bit thin and bland overall but has some character.
