On tap at the Warsteiner tasting at Eli Cannon's on April 24th, 2003. Dark brownish black, with a red hue through the light. Puffy almond head that quickly dimishes, but most likely because of the burger I was eating at the time. Smells mildly roasty and light, with a crisp clean lager-ish quality. Flavor is light and roasty. Very clean, well done. Aftertaste is very mild, leaving little flavor to be wanting more, but still a very good pint. I'd take another.

On Tap. Copper/Brown with miniaml head. Nothing distinct in the aroma (good or bad). Tasted a little thinner than other Dunkels, but the lacking bitterness was welcome for me. Although lacking sophistication of any fruits or spices, this is a quality brew that is quite drinkable and clean.

Clear, dark brown pour with a small, off-white head. Smells nutty with toasted caramel, faint banana, and a little vegetal. Flavor is toast, almond, hay, and a slight noble hop spice on the finish. Thin body with lots of carbonation.

Sublime! Great beer with an increasingly large following by people who know good beer when they taste it (not one for pig swill drinkers)

"What the hell I swear the cap on this beer has a slight pink hue to it, body reminds me of a glass of coke dark, dark brown almost black, the light pink cap had not bad retention. This aroma is horrible what I can only describe as sour yuck, mixed with barn dust also throw in some mild spice, I don’t like this aroma one bit. Taste seems fairly average but not really all that good but its not putrid like the smell, it’s mostly bready with some noticeable alcohol and I swear I taste a touch of vanilla. Mouth feel is crappy to soft thin and flat, that’s all I want to say about it. Overall this beer is disappointing smells like crap, taste ok and is easily forgettable. Done while playing cards with Nat, beercronic and Leah."

Nice smooth texture - malty/swwet flavor with no bitterness. Dark color with a slightly fruity aroma. Pretty good - maybe a good session beer.

Poured a dark amber beneath a creamy white head, pinky finger thick only. Aroma was mostly malt, maybe with a wheat undertone, and taste was rather much the same. Mouthfeel was rich and solid, and despite the aforementioned malt, the finish was not overly sweet. A pretty nice beer, and I’m good for more.

Dark brown body with a tan head. Malty aroma and flavor. Noticed wheaty/barley flaovrs and it had a bit of a chalky feel to it as well. Finishes medium and fairly clean.
