It looks delightfully regal, its bottle proclaiming it the Queen of the Beers in German. Its flavour and palate are full and satisfying, making this a beer of substance, and, quite possibly, my all-around favourite German beer. The Dunkel (dark) Warsteiner is better than the Premium Verum. dp (512), uniontown, Ohio, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 19, 2008 Pours a very dark brown, almost like a cola with a small off-white head. Aroma is roasted malt and grainy with some caramel notes. Flavor starts of grainy and a bit bland. Some of the better flavor comes towards the end with some sweetness balanced by some hop bitterness. Medium bodied. Not bad for a dunkel, but seems to mass produced to really stand out more jalichio999 (502), Brazil

Warsteiner Dunkel poured a super clear dark mahogany. Dark ruby hues. A 1+ finger bubbly off-white head that quickly fell to just a little wisp along the top.
The smell is good. I pick up dark fruits, some cherry. Along with some sweet bready malt. Smells pretty tasty.
The taste isn’t as good as the smell. It’s doughy and slightly sweet up front. Then it’s all roasted and burnt malts which quickly turns to bitterness. I’m assuming from the burnt malts.
Mouthfeel is average. It’s a little slick as it goes down the throat. Pretty watery though. Definately not it’s best point.
The drinkability is just above average. It’s an easy drinker.
