| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | May 23, 2003 This brew poured a medium white head that was quick to dissolve. There was not a lot of lacing on the sides of my mug. It had a dark brown body. Bitterness was definintely noticed in this drink. I was not very impressed with this brew. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 31, 2004 Pours reddish brown. Medium tan head. Aroma is slightly hopped and caramelly. Some definite malt aromas as well. The taste is like a caramelly version of the regular Warsteiner. It’s sweeter and less crisp and grassy. Not too bad, but only average. Mouthfeel is smooth enough and the finish slightly bitter, but this is essentially a macro dunkel. Drinkable enough but not complex. PorterPounder (3147), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 19, 2005 In the bottle. Dark, but not too dark. Has a white head, but not too much of a head. Aroma is lager -like, but not too impressive. Flavor is rich toffee-like roasty lager blend, but not too flavorful. I guess my point is that this beer is OK, but just not very memorable. The dunkels vom fass are way way better, but maybe bottled german beers that find their way to Nebraska have a low ceiling and a large age. shrubber85 (2934), Wallhalben, Germany
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 31, 2005 Bottle. Nutty dark malt and caramel aroma. Dark reddish brown color with slight head. Nice complex flavor for the style - hazlenut initially followed by caramel malt and ending with a mixture of chocolate and hops. Nice mouthfeel. Moderate carbonation. A very good dunkel that should be easily assessible
