**Rating is for the draft beer.** The light palate contrasts with this beers dark brown colour. Not a let down, but nothing specatacular.

I thought that it was pretty good. It almost tasted like tootsie rolls I think or at least from what I remember.

Quite tastey, not really spectacular, but a good all around beer. Worth a try if you like dark lagers.

A decent beer (it’s German, so I expect that at least) but lacking in complexity. If you’re looking for a very drinkable beer that isn’t pilsener style, this is a good pick...otherwise, stick with something a bit more distinguished.

This is not a bad beer by any means. Much better than the premium pils.

Sweet and nutty, a very clean drink - doesn’t get too clingy with either the sweetness or the yucky lager aftertaste. Distinct cocoa. Hard to find a mass-market dark German brew in a brown bottle. Mouthfeel was substantial, but didn’t become weighty after 3 or 4. Nothing earth-shaking, but this is a good value at $7/6 in the local grocery store.

Dark chestnut brown with a tan head. Good aroma of roasted malt and nuts, taste is a bit watered down vs. the scent, but still has a nice smooth malty body. Finishes pretty quick - not as much of a lingering aftertaste as you’d expect from a good Dunkel.
