But it’s hard to improve on what is said, "a...clean dark lager"
Yep, that covers it. Excellent session beer, you could do much worse. Russo (595), Campinas, Brazil

Cerveja preta, com aroma de malt torrado e doce, espuma bege e fina, sabor doce tipo caramelo, pouco amarga. JesseM (674), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Pours a deep redish brown, just like cola, with a small light-brown head. Smells mostly of malts and sweet things. The taste is very big on sweet roasted malts, with some other sweet elements thrown in, I almost tasted some berries in there. It’s somewhat well rounded off by some bitterness in the finish, but I found that to be a little weak and inconsistent, though the roasty malt body is pretty tasty. Not a very big mouth-feel, with low to medium carbonation. Not bad over-all, I’m sure there’s plenty of better examples of this style, but I’m glad to see the LCBO seems to alomost be expanding their horizons. A good ’go-to’ beer as it’s always very well priced and well worth it.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 30, 2008 Poured a hazy reddish brown with a large eggshell white head. The nose was of wheat, toffee, banana and a little skunkiness. The taste started with mild hops, bitter cocoa and toffee, while the end brought caramel and clove. The finish was sweet and slightly hoppy. The feel was medium, as was the carbonation. This one is worth drinking. It has a little more character than a lot of other macro beers, so give it shot if you get the opportunity. MikeF (528), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
