This brew pours a dark brown with red highlights. The average off-white creamy head has good lacing. The light and clean fresh flowery aroma is primarily caramel malt. The ultra-balanced flavor again is primarily caramel sweetness, with a decent long finish. My only complain there is that it is bland and not complex. The light to medium body is creamy with lively carbonation and a metallic finish. hayduke (1661), Eureka, California, USA

Lighter tasting than it looks. Decent mouthfeel. OK, but not outstanding. SDalkoholic (1196), Chula Vista, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 8, 2006 Average in its color with a normal brown. Aroma is soft with a light touch of malt. The flavor is weak with minimum notes of caramel and malt. Not memorable dunkel in mu opinion. dirkules (613), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Has a slightly sweet roast malt aroma, mayhaps a touch of nuttiness. Very smooth to drink. No overwhelming flavors to speak of. Malty. Crisp finish. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 27, 2004 Pours dark brown with red luster, minimal head that dissolves quickly. Aroma is roasty with a hint of sweetness. Initial taste is rather bland, with some roasted and caramel taste. The body is somewhat thin with about as much carbonation as a soda. The finish is rather bitter but ephemeral. I prefer to drink it cold from a bottle when I’m looking simply to quench my thirst but I’m not in the mood for a pale beer. Otherwise, nothing spectacular.
