pours dark brown with a two finger fluffy brown head. aroma is toasted caramel malt with a little hops. has a light to medium body with good lacing and carbonation. flavor is the same as aroma but more toasted malt than caramel. the flavor is also a bit stronger with some grass and hay. as it warms the aroma catches up to the flavor ratings wise. not bad i guess.

Pretty good. A little too sweet though. Lightly roasted all malt profile. Low carbonation and very drinkable. It does not have much of an aroma.

Brown color with a light tan head that doesn’t last long. Good malty aroma and taste.

Easy to drink alot of. Smooth with medium body. Malty with a subtle chocolate hint. I rate it as good. Very sessionable.

Bottle... beautiful dark brown color with a head that is initally light brown but turns off white. Nice aroma, but not as penetrating as the Verum. A smooth flavor that reminds me of a watered down version of Guinness. Not a bad beer, but I like the Verum MUCH better. This is too smooth for my taste. I like a beer that has a stronger character with a bitter finish.

What’s the beef with Warsteiner Dunkel? I thought it was a really tasty, complex beer. It was definitely better than what I was expecting: another boring dark lager of only slightly better quality than Amber Bock. We were picking up a lot of flavors from roasted nuts to apple. Of course, it did seem a little slight in terms of the body and palate. At any rate, I found nothing much to complain about. Warsteiner Dunkel (bottle) is a tasty, attractive beer at a reasonable price.

Can. Pours nice dark brown, with a foamy white head that recedes into a fine lacing. Primarily a malt aroma, with a hint of Euro-style hops. Sweet maltiness, with some hops, nut, toastiness. A little hollow in the finish. Solid.

Draught at Old Town Tavern for the most random find of the year award. A pleasingly creamy head tops a clear brown body and leaves light lace. The aroma is subtle but has a nice malt and bread touch. The flavor is sweet and has a kiss of hops in the finish. Light bodied with prickly carbonation. Lacks the rich malt flavors of my favorite dunkels, but it is still enjoyable.
