I have never had this dark of a beer be so smooth. Not much head, either. vwsteggie (684), Paxton, Massachusetts, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 17, 2002 deep red with a thin head that dissapates quickly. Aroma of malts, roast and a crispness that is hidden in the back. Taste was unexpected with malts at first followed by a grainy sour/bitterness but not in a bad way. Very refreshing and recommendable. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA

I was impressed by this beer expecting a gross, heavy taste. The only problem with this beer was that it may have been a little on the watered down side. BigBen2120 (688), Derry, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 22, 2006 Brown but translucent body with almost no carbonation or head. Interesting smell. Roasty and caramel dominate. Tastes very roasty with caramel and coffee notes. Very very good. Well balanced despite the presence of afformentioned flavors and scents. Pretty good for a lager. the6thnitemare (15), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | May 1, 2008 I was genuinely surprised by this beer. I am familiar with the Warsteiner name but had never tried this particular brew. This one is great. Pours a nice dark dark brown with an above average sized white head. The aroma has a faint hint of caramel and a natural nuttiness. The flavor is wonderfully bold. I wasn’t expecting much from this, so perhaps that is why my opinion of this is much higher than anyone else’s. Overall a great beer especially compared to other beers in its class. aletales (73), , Oklahoma, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 21, 2009 malty aroma, dark pour with a thick that recedes with good lacing. Good carbonation bite at the first with a cola malt flavor with a bit of floral hops. Finish is just a bit bitter from the hops to provide a nice balance.
