Dark and translucent in the cup, with deep amber and garnet. Light but penetrating aroma. Crisp and slightly acid mouth feel, tingly on the tongue with carbonation. Light bodied. Smooth mild flavour, well balanced, with a long finish.
A nice basic beer. Tastes like beer, smells like beer. Unibonger (69), Mount Shasta, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 29, 2009 11.2 oz. Pours a clear light brown, darkening to a deep amber brown in the glass. Little head with very little retention. Very malty, slight roasted scent. Light sweet flavor, very little bitterness that appears at the end and stands out in an odd way. Seems kind of lacking though, not much body to the flavor. Medium carbonation and body on the tongue. adavis234 (137), Columbia, South Carolina, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 23, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a dark, clear, amber brown with a thin white head and limited lacing. Aroma is light chocolate/coffee malt with some sweet hoppy notes. Flavor is light and crisp, hoppier than the aroma but with a decent chocaltey malt background. Beer is a bit thin but enjoyable, a decent dunkel. tpd975 (252), Riverview, Florida, USA

S: Tons of malt with a hint of caramel sweetness.
T: Typical german malty brew. Tons of malt up front with a hint of biscuity sweetness in the background. Not my cup of tea.
M: Medium bodied. Sask89 (26), Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 19, 2009 Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a light head that quickly dissipates. The aroma is not strong but there is a nutty, malty, coffee aroma. The taste is a little nutty too with coffee, roasted and it is a bit bitter, which I like. Overall though this is an average dark beer but enjoyable. keidjxz (77), Irvine, California, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 13, 2009 Decent German dunkel that works well for parties or other gatherings. Tends towards the lighter side. Not very complex but then again, not every beer has to be. darrennelson12 (37), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
